Legal Regulations Regarding Hospital Uniforms
According to Article 189 of the Regulation on the Operation of Inpatient Treatment Institutions, published in the Official Gazette dated January 13, 1983, and numbered 17927, doctors, nurses, and similar in-house healthcare professionals are required to wear medical gowns and similar uniforms. Even though this regulation is not actively adhered to by healthcare professionals today, it is recommended that they pay attention to it to avoid any legal investigation.
The requirement to wear aprons and scrubs, a matter of considerable importance in Europe, certain countries in Asia, and all other developed and developing countries, is unfortunately not given enough importance in our country. However, the use of products like aprons and scrubs can provide both professional and task-based identification and ensure compliance with general hygiene and health regulations.
